Eastern Paris has token on a new lease of life thanks to the Bastille Opera House, the Fran;ois Mitterrand national library and the Palais Omnisport at Bercy, the new venue for music and sports.
 
The Viaduc des Arts arcades, converted from a railway viaduct, invites you to window-shop at exclusive arts and crafts galleries. Overhead, the old railroad tracks are now replaced by a landscaped walkway. At nearby Porte Dorée is the musée des Arts d'Afrique et d' Océonie, with its sculptures, masks and terrariums.
